Usually "taur" refers to an entire whole-ass body cut off at the neck to replace the human's legs, though, unless you're talking about the specific case of the Minotaur where the human half is on the bottom.

Which is to say a naga and a merperson are not taurs... they're satyrs.

I guess the key difference between the two is indeed where the body is cut

satyrs uses the bottom half of an animal (like the back legs of something), while taurs use the whole body except the head

so most mermaids in art are satyrs, but they could be made into taurs

snakes are harder to define as they don't have much as for things to differentiate between body and tail. a real headscratcher, you could make a religion out of it

hi this is v2 of my cohost resources post, i accidentally deleted the other one, and i had to remake this from memory and my browser histories.

prechoster, my best friend
  • so remember that in cohost, you can use a limited set of html tags, and the only way you can style them is through the style="" attribute
  • prechoster allows more kinds of code and converts them into html+ for cohost posts
  • my main use for it is style inlining, where i write html with class attributes and a separate css stylesheet that targets those classes, and then prechoster inlines the styles
  • i also use it for editing long posts as it has a decent text editor and a preview

how to math
  • Convert TeX to HTML by pommicket, which outputs flat HTML that you can just paste into your post. However note that the MathJax font used doesn't render in my mobile firefox.
    • example: 1+1𝑥𝑥
  • prechoster also allows using KaTeX in writing posts
    1. go to the sidebar
    2. go to examples and templates
    3. use the "KaTeX MathML" template
      • this works because cohost supports MathML, so all prechoster is doing is running a script that looks for content enclosed in $, converting that into MathML, and inserting that into the post

you should download files. it's fun, free, and better for the world than streaming services. "but it's hard" this is a guide. i promise you don't need to be a computerhead. i believe in you.

why should i pirate shit?

  • streaming services suck. in every industry, they make their money by financially ruining the people who make the art they profit off of. their algorithms, instead of helping you "discover new art", funnel you into what they want you to watch/listen/play. they're janky & inconsistent & are all missing things. fuck em.
  • having your collection of files rules. remember how dads would get excited about their cd or dvd collections? they were right. that shit rules. trust me: knowing your collection represents your tastes, and you're in control of what's in it feels sick as hell.
  • it's free! spend your 10 bucks a month buying music from a broke artist on bandcamp instead. easy.
  • using media library server software, you can stream your own files to your tv/phone/etc, like streaming services.
  • pirate streaming sites also exist but tbh they also suck and I'm not trying to sit through "try not to cum" ads to watch a show in questionable quality with no subtitle options.
